Bathroom Remodel

Two Sundays ago, Matthew, his best friend Will, and I spent the afternoon demolishing our master bathroom. We live in a 1950's home, so our bathroom is tiny. I can live with tiny, but I can not live with ugly. Unfortunately I do not have any before photos, but imagine a bathroom that had not been remodeled since the 80's or early 90's. We had a linoleum floor, brass hardware and a very cheap vanity. We also had a light fixture that looked like it was original. We had a mold problem on the ceiling of the shower due to a lack of circulation, so we installed a ventilation fan (when I say "we", I mean Christian, the guy who remodeled our bathroom. My husband and I are not do-it-yourselfers, but we did paint!). We also purchased all new fixtures and had a faux slate tile installed. I am thrilled with the final result! It is my favorite remodel yet. Before: We don't really have a red bathroom. Our camera was set on some funky setting.  After: I was goin...

Sister Sister

Today, I want to introduce to you my sweet sisters. I am the oldest of 3 girls. My younger sisters are Andrea (right) and Kristen (middle). We are all 2 years apart. We have always been close, but now that we are adults, we can finally call each other friends. (I'm not going to lie. We fought just as much as other brothers and sisters, but since we moved so much in our younger years, we have a deep bond.) This is my sweet Daddy. He has always done a good job putting up with us and spoiling us greatly. :) Andrea (middle in this picture and middle child) is a CPA in Abilene, TX. She is the toughest girl I have ever been around. I mean that as a compliment. She played soccer in high school and has a black belt in Karate. Growing up, she was the tomboy of the family. She said when she grew up she wanted to work on a ranch and drive a teal truck. You would always find her playing with the other boys on the playground. She is very protective of her family, so don't me...

Monkey Hat

I finished my first crocheted item for Baby Will! Here is a picture of the finished monkey hat: This little cutie is baby Parker. He was a perfect model for the hat since he is the age my son will be next year at this time. I can't wait to see my own baby wearing this precious hat. Only 4 more months!

Sneak Peek!

I purchased some fabric on Monday from an amazing shop that I just discovered called Cabbage Rose near Vickery and I-30.  It is definitely not cheap, but it has some of the most beautiful fabrics that I have ever seen. Here is a sneak peek at the fabric that I purchased. I started on a new project last night, and I will let you see it as soon as I am done.

First Sewing Project

I have completed my first sewing project on my new sewing machine!  I have done a little bit of sewing in the past, but always with my mom's supervision and usually with her taking over about half way through the project because of my lack of skill. :) However, I am determined to learn how to sew now that I have a new baby on the way. Here is my first project: Sewing strips of ruffles Pile of ruffles My completed project! I love how it turned out (though I would definitely make some changes if I were to do it all over again). Thanks for stopping by! Get the tutorial here.

It's a Boy!!!!

We found out yesterday that we are having a baby boy! His name is Will Walker Morgan (after Matthew's best friend Will Stuteville and President George Walker Bush). He is perfectly healthy and weighs about 13oz. Thank you for all of your prayers!

3 More Days!!!

Only 3 more days until we find out if we are having a boy or a girl! We are so excited and can't wait. Please pray that the doctors are able to clearly see what they need to see and that are baby is healthy. We will let you know soon!

Favorite Boys Nurseries

I am currently 19 weeks pregnant and all I can think about all day long is babies. I'm sorry if you are sick of seeing all of my nursery ideas, but that is all I can think about! We find out in 5 days what we are having. I personally think it is a boy, so here are some of my favorite boys nurseries. If I have a boy, I want to do his nursery with bluish/grey walls, dark espresso furniture and pops of orange. I am totally in love with these rustic orange dupioni silk curtains. I think they would add a lot of drama to the room. Please note that I found all of these nurseries at projectnursery.com

My Favorite Stencils

I am thinking about doing a stencil on one or more walls in my new baby's room. Here are a few that I love. The one above if from Jones Design Company blog. She used it to decorate her office. This is not a stencil but I love the dramatic effect of the stripes. Which one do you love?
