Over President's Day weekend, Kristi (a good friend of mine), my husband and I painted the baby's nursery. It felt so good to get such a big task completed! We choose to paint all of the walls Pewter Cup (by Kelly Moore) which is a dark gray. My aunt is an amazing interior decorator and has been helping me plan out the nursery. Originally, we had discussed painting three walls gray and doing the wall behind the crib a different color as an accent wall, but then we decided to paint a lattice design instead. It was very time consuming, but turned out amazing! Here is how we did it (you will have to forgive my pictures; they were all done with an iPhone): 1. Paint the entire wall the color that you want your stripes to be. We wanted the stripes to be white, so we primed the wall and then painted it white. 2. I just got the best deal for fabric ever! My good friend Jennifer told me about a fabulous fabric store called Home Fabrics near the Northeast Mall in Hurst. I went in there and found this amazing orange polka dot fabric on sale for $1/yard!!!! I couldn't believe it! I was able to get over 19 yards for $20 (tax included). I am going to use it to cover a chair and ottoman for my nursery. This is my new favorite store! If anyone wants some, I will have tons left over. I had to buy the entire bolt to get the $1/yd. Otherwise, it was $3/yard which is still a steal. I will be selling it for $5/yard if you are interested (kidding). :)

A couple of weekends ago, I went shopping with my sister Kristen to pick out some baby items. I am very picky about the things I like and was thrilled when I saw this bag. This is a Petunia Pickle Bottom bag from Neiman Marcus. Now, I would normally never ever shop at Neimans but I happened to have a gift card there and couldn't wait to use it for the baby. Kristen was worried about the pink flowers on the bag since I am having a boy, but I justified that I would be the one carrying the bag and the background is navy blue after all. :) The thing I love most about this bag is that it can be worn as a backpack. I hope baby Will doesn't mind me putting his manly things in a floral bag.

I didn't have a lot of time to work on crafts for baby Will this weekend, but I did get a large item completed on my checklist. I got a mommy car! I was driving this: 2002 Audi TT But then I got pregnant: So I got this: It is a 2006 Nissan Murano. We spent a long time looking for this vehicle, and had a few bad experiences with a few dealerships, but finally completed the purchase on Saturday. It is a huge relief to have this finished. I hate shopping for cars. Not that it isn't fun to look online, but I hate the negotiation process and so does my husband, Matthew. I can't wait to bring home baby Will from the hospital in May!

Our office was closed again on Friday due to ice and snow, so I decided to spend the day making some burp cloths. I love how they turned out and I can't wait for little Will to get here so I can start using them. I used the tutorial located here  for this project. I cut up an old towel for the backside of the cloth and purchased the blue and brown fabrics at JoAnn's for 1.99/yd and the green hounds tooth from Cabbage Rose for $9/yd. I was able to make six burp cloths for under $10!

It has been very icy here for the past few days. In fact, our office actually shut down for the last three days due to the weather. I used this extra time to finally finish a blanket I started for baby Will. I got this pattern here , and Dana was not lying when she said that it was a long and tedious project. It was a ton of fun to make, but it took about 15 hours to complete. I am so pleased with the result! I hope Will loves it.  The fabrics I chose. Sewing millions of tiny lines. Cutting millions of tiny lines. Adding the binding. Tada! A faux chenille blanket. Chenille side. Right side. On to the next project....
