Happy Halloween!

Today, we drove over to Dallas to go to the Dallas Arboretum with some friends. They had thousands of pumpkins, a petting zoo, face painting, and a hay maze. We got there a little early so I could feed Will before we started taking pictures. I decided to feed him in the car and left the radio on, which was really stupid because it drained my car battery. :( This place was really busy so I was afraid that there wouldn't be an open parking spot next to my car when we decided to leave to pull up my friend's car in order to jump start the battery. I simply prayed about it, and God answered my prayer! He is so faithful and I feel so foolish every time I doubt him. He also kept us safe on our drive home when we ran over a box with a satellite dish in it on the highway. A nap was definitely deserved when we got home.  I made Will a Texas Rangers uniform to celebrate the Rangers going to the World Series.  Sliding home.... Will is very upset that the Ran...

Baby Blessing

Last Sunday was our annual baby blessing at our church. All of the babies and their families were called on stage where the elders of our church presented them with their first Bibles and prayed over them. Joe Bullock held Will during the prayer. We feel so blessed to be members of a church that cares so much for their children.  On our way to church Will at home with his new Bible Will loves his Bible!  Eating the scroll :)

Baby Leg Warmers

Last Wednesday I whipped up a pair of baby leg warmers to go with Will's halloween outfit since the weather turned a little chilly. Leg warmers are super easy to make. You can find a good tutorial  here.   I found these socks at Target for $2.50 a pair. I bought four pair total and can't wait to get the rest of them sewn.

Family Campout

This last weekend we attended out church's annual campout. It is one of our favorite weekends of the year! This year there was a rather small turnout because of some other conflicts but there were still around 75 people who came out. We listened to the Rangers game on the radio, sat around the campfire, ate together and had a devotional while looking out on the lake Sunday morning. Will did a great job and slept all night. The weather was perfect and we can't wait until next year.  Will and his friends Isla, Fisher, and Stella.  Lake Mineral Wells Will and Fisher talking.

Happy 29th Birthday Matthew!

My MamMa

Last week, my MamMa passed away. We attended her funeral this last weekend in Abilene. She was a very kind lady who always made you feel welcome. When she would open her front door she would say with a smile, "Come in this house!" She loved to socialize and meet new people. She was also the best person to be around when you were sick. She would give me Sprite and crackers and take very good care of me if I felt the least bit ill. I remember she would call us in from playing outside to make the fork marks on the peanut butter cookies she was baking for us and she made the best crust for pies. She was a die hard Abilene Eagles fan and loved to talk politics. These are some of the last pictures I took of her this summer. She will be truly missed!  At my baby shower Meeting Will Walker for the first time when he was 2 weeks old

Pumpkins

The last couple of years I have had good intentions to carve my pumpkins, but it seems like every year Halloween comes and goes and my pumpkin is left to rot on the front porch in it's original form.  This year I decided to paint my pumpkins instead after I saw  this.    I asked the guys at the farmer's market how they get the pumpkins so shiny like the one on the far right and they told me to use floor wax. I tried some floor cleaner that I had at the house and it cleaned the two pumpkins on the left well but did not leave them as shiny.  I used this paint to paint on the pumpkins. I was really excited to use the glow in the dark paint to do our family's initial, but after putting it outside I realized that we rarely turn the porch light off. Bummer. I used a little left over tulle to dress it up. Tada!

Another Sneak Peek

This is what I have been working on all week. I can't wait to show you what it is when I'm done!

Tag Update

It is day 33 and my tag is still up! Check out this  post  for more details.

Will's First Trip to the Zoo

Last Friday, I took Will on his first zoo trip with some other mommies from our church. Of course Will didn't look at any animals, but he loved being outside! It was perfect weather. I had forgotten how great the Fort Worth zoo is because I hadn't visited it since I was a child. When Will gets older, we will have to get a membership and go often.  Will with Tricia and his friend Campbell Will with Jana and her daughter Brynley and Amber and her two kids, Ruby and Stephen
