18 Months Old

Dear Will,  A few weeks ago you turned 18 months. It seems like it was just a month ago that we were celebrating your 1 year old birthday. You have always been fun, but you are really, really fun now. You understand so much of what we say and are trying to repeat lots of words.  You weigh 24.4 lbs (26%), are 32.25 inches tall (45%) and your head is 19.25 inches in circumference (78%). I can already tell you are going to be skinny like your daddy.  You can say dada, mama, dog, duck, woof woof, eyes, boys, hello, hi, nana (banana), please, yes and rice. You can sign more, done, milk, eat, crackers, grapes, thank you, please, and yes. You are blowing kisses, giving hugs & kisses, giving high fives and fist bumps and shaking hands.  You love to read. You have tons of toys but you mostly read books. We are so proud of you! You definitely want to be like your Daddy and are completely obsessed with him. You follow him around and are so happ...

New Christmas Decor

You know how it is. You change the decorations in one room of your house and it starts a domino effect where every other room seems outdated or out of sync. I just changed the curtains in my living room and now I don't feel like my house will be complete without a new curtain and light fixture for the kitchen. Now that Christmas is upon us, I think that all of my old holiday decor will clash with my new living room decor. All of this is such silliness, but I'm really excited to create some new Christmas decorations this year. For the past seven or eight years I have decorated with jewel tones and golds, but now I'm going to switch over to silvers and blues. If you have a Pinterest account, I'm sure you have seen these pictures, but I am really inspired by these links. I think I'm going to use my old ornaments and decoupage old book pages over them so that I don't have to buy an entire tree's worth of ornaments.  I love the burlap banner.  ...

Aunt Meredith's Reception

Matthew's sister, Meredith, got married a month ago in a small wedding, so this week she had a reception to celebrate with all of her friends. It was held at the Swenson House in Abilene which is absolutely gorgeous! I had never been there before the reception, but I fell in love with it. It was built in the early 1900's and was still decorated in that classic style.

The Zoo, Halloween, & More

We had a busy week last week. Last Thursday, we took Will to the zoo. Last Christmas, Matthew's sweet Aunt Debby gave him two tickets to the zoo and we are just now finally getting around to using them. Will went to the zoo when he was an infant, but this was his first time as a toddler. He loved it!  Will wanted to ride the carousel at the zoo, but once it started going he got wide-eyed and started shaking his head no. He was clutched onto me for dear life. After it was all said and done, I couldn't tell if he loved it or hated it.  Then, on Saturday we had the Greenlee Family Reunion to attend. Will loved getting to see his grandparents, aunts, and cousins.  Walking up and down the stairs with G.G. Will and Cousin Paige My mom decided to stay with us for a few days after the reunion. It was so nice to have here. She gave me a much needed break by chasing after Will, helping feed him and change his diapers. W...
