Pirate Halloween Costume

I made Will's pirate Halloween costume a little early so that we could take some pictures with pumpkins before they were all gone. I made a hat out of black felt, a sash, a do-rag, a sword out of cardboard and duct tape and a felt hook. I bought the white t-shirt at Walmart and bought some used black sweatpants and cut the hem jagged. It was so easy! There is just something so cute about a homemade costume.

Campout

Last weekend was the annual Southside Church of Christ Campout. This is one of our favorite weekends of the year. All we do is sit around the campfire chatting and making smores, eating yummy food, and just enjoying being outside. It was perfect weather except for a rainstorm that rolled through on Saturday night. I wish I had taken more pictures.  Will loved running around!  He also fell down a lot. Look at all of those scrapes. :(  Will loves to poke us in the eye and say "Eyyyyyessss!" Will and his friend Judson

Meredith's Wedding

Yesterday, my sister-in-law, Meredith, got married. It was an outdoor wedding and reception with lots of burlap and antique details. It was gorgeous but very cold. Will was in the wedding with his cousin Henry. Already, this was Will's second time to be in a wedding in his short 17 months of age. He was in my sister-in-law, Katie's, wedding when he was just three weeks old. Here are some photos from yesterday. Will loved running around on the property! Will and Henry were pulled in a wagon down the aisle by the ring-bearer, Colton.  There was no way to keep this hair under control in the wind.  At first, Henry hated the wagon. Kiersyn, the flower girl, took great care of Will. Big flirt When it was time for the wedding, Henry ...

Living Room Redo

I finally have enough of the living room completed that I can show you pictures of my progress. Below, is my before picture. My living room was dominated by reds, blacks, purples, and golds. It started becoming very dark, and that is when I realized I needed a change.  Before After I started by painting all of my furniture white. Then I picked new fabric for the curtains and the rest of the color scheme came from my custom curtains. I recovered an old chair from a previous post with blue chevron fabric, sewed new pillows for the sofa, and purchased a new rug from Ballard Design. After all that, I felt like something was still missing, so I painted some orange on the top of my coffee table.  I also got new lamps from Pier 1. I spray painted some existing frames blue to tie everything together.  I also wanted new curtains for the sliding glass door that goes out to the back yard. I really, really, wanted horizontal, fat stripes,...
