We took Will out to a patch of bluebonnets to photograph him for his 2 year old pictures. (How can he be almost 2 already?) I will post those pictures next week, but while we were out there Matthew took some maternity pictures as well. Can you believe we are actually next to a Walmart? It looks like we are out in the country. Anyway, we can not wait for little Reese Marie to get here!

I saw the coolest teepee on Pinterest and knew that I had to make it for Will. He loves to read, just like his daddy, and I thought it would be a great addition to his big boy room. Well, it turns out that it is way bigger than I thought it would be, so now it lives in the living room. Here is the original from Pinterest and here  is the tutorial that I used: I pretty much copied it exactly. I loved the way it looked and couldn't think of anything creative to add to it. I love pinterest and have been pinning little girl ideas for at least a year just in a case I ever had a girl. Now I have way more ideas than I will ever be able to accomplish, but one of my favorites is the barefoot sandal. I've never seen such a thing until just recently, but since I am due in July, I thought a barefoot sandal would be perfect for my sweet baby in this super hot Texas climate. The first one I made was crocheted from this tutorial . I made these shoes especially to go with a cute outfit I purchased at Target immediately after finding out I was having a girl. I had to make a matching hair clip too, right? Next, I tried this tutorial  for a barefoot sandal made out of an old t-shirt. My husband, who is constantly going to Goodwill to look for a bargain, was nice enough to pick me up a bright, super soft yellow t-shirt for just $3. These shoes take longer than you would think. You have probably already seen this hat on my blog before, but this was my first time to make a matching diaper cover. I am going to use it for Reese's newborn pictures. I got the idea from a picture I saw on Ravelry. I just hope it fits! The best part about my crocheting projects is that I have a ton of left over yarn from previous projects so most of the things I have made don't cost me a dime.  Picture from Ravelry  

We live in a 3 bedroom house, so Matthew and I decided that it would be best if Will took over the guest bedroom and then baby Reese could have the nursery and not disturb Will in the middle of the night. We haven't done a thing to the guest room since we moved in, so we started by painting all of the walls white. I love Pottery Barn's navy furniture that they have for kids, so that inspired me to paint a daybed that we already had and an old dresser. I also added new drawer pulls to the dresser to make it look a little more modern. I wish I had taken a before picture. I will do a better post when Will's "big boy room" is complete, but here is a sneak peek of the bedding. My biggest splurge in the room is the madras quilt from Pottery Barn Kids. Other than that, I have tried to make or repurpose everything else. My mom and I sewed the three standard navy blue shams with green chevron detail. I made the navy dust ruffle to match. Ever since I found out I was pregnant, I have been very focused on getting a giant list of projects completed at my house. Therefore, the blog has been put on the backburner. I am far from being done with my list, but I want to take some time this week to show a few things that I have been working on. First up is a t-shirt quilt that I made for Matthew for Christmas. He has been begging me for about a year to make him one and I finally got around to it. It is the softest blanket that we own, so it gets a lot of use. Please note: Matthew LOVES to shop at Goodwill. A lot of the t-shirts he chose are not necessarily nostalgic, but just favorites of his. Click here  for a link to the tutorial I used. It is approximately 5 feet x 6 feet. I used a really soft green and navy plaid flannel for the backing. This is my first quilt ever! I found that a t-shirt quilt is a great and cheap way to get started. 

This year we celebrated Easter a week early because all of my family was in town and we always go to Dallas on Easter to be with our church family at LTC. There are no little kids on my side of the family, so Will got to hunt Easter eggs all by himself and he loved it!   The paparazzi  Where are more eggs?  He was so proud of himself each time he put an egg in the basket. He would clap his hands and say "Yaaayyyy!"   Will always runs or walks quickly with only one big swinging arm.  Last Easter as a family of 3
