The Thursday before Halloween, we made our annual trek to Hall's Pumpkin Farm in Grapevine. It was a blast. We took a picnic, did the corn maze, looked at the farm animals, and got ice cream. On Halloween, we took the kids to see Grammy & Pampaw, Terry & Lisa Kile, went trick or treating in our neighborhood and then had the High Schoolers over for games. This is one of my favorite weekends of the year! We went to Abilene to attend the West Texas Fair and to support my mother in the Walk to End Alzheimer's. Will loved the Fair this year more than ever. Reese liked it but was a little traumatized by the petting zoo. The walk was wonderful and our team raised over $4,000! Will started his 1st day of Pre-K in the Kangaroos class with Mrs. Lindsey & Mrs. Laura. Reese started her first day of school in the Penguin class with Mrs. Ginger and Mrs. Hailey. They are both at McKinney Bible Church and had a great first day!

I cannot say enough great things about Camp Blue Haven in Las Vegas, NM. It is one of my favorite weeks out of the entire year! The camp is located in the foothills, the climate is cooler and rainier than Texas, and it has completely gorgeous trees, sunsets, and the most brilliant stars. We get to see families and friends that we only see once a year and our kids get to run wild with a bunch of other kids. They get filthy dirty, eat the most delicious (and fattening) food, and most importantly learn about our glorious God. It is such a spiritual place and I leave every year with a fresh word from the Lord. I came back this year with a long list of things that I need to do, people I need to take care of, and changes that I need to make in my own life.
