Thanksgiving

This year was our very first year to host Thanksgiving! I was so super excited that I decided of course to do a major home renovation just 6 weeks before Thanksgiving. I also agreed to cook my first turkey. It created a little or a lot of stress (which is exactly what Matthew warned me about), but it all came together after a lot of hard work and late nights.  The major renovation was to frame out the window in my dining room and install board and batten. I've never used a nail gun or saw in my life. I made a ton of mistakes, but if you don't look too closely, it looks pretty dang good. I still need a new light fixture, curtains, art, a plant and some accessories, but I love the green paint I chose and wish there was more of it.  I got my first saw and it is a boss!  We had 25 people join us for Thanksgiving and my house handled it pretty well. We were able to seat everyone at 3 different tables and no one had to sit alone on the couch or outside o...

Halloween

Originally, Reese wanted to be a horse for Halloween. I asked her, "How am I supposed to make you a horse costume?" She said, "Just make a costume, and put horse stuff on it." Of course. I convinced her to be a unicorn instead, and she agreed as long as I could find a light up horn that changed colors. Party City to the rescue! You can't tell from the pictures, but we sprayed her hair purple and added tons of glitter.  Will was dead set on being a storm trooper.  We were so excited to have Will's friend, David and his mom Kelli come trick-or-treating with us!  Will chose to be a baseball player for his Storybook Parade at school since he couldn't wear his Stormtrooper mask.
